China Gas price finally down

Yesterday, June 9, 2012 the China NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) announced that lower the gas & diesel prices by 0.39 and 0.44 RMB per liter respectively, though it still can’t reach most people’s expectations since the world crude oil prices have fallen so much.

The oil pricing mechanism in China is always a dispute for years because its nature of rising much less fall, people’s complaints can be heard everywhere, the oil prices in China even expensive than in the U.S, that’s really a joking that the American per capita income is ten times than the Chinese…  all the people are enjoying a happly life that only in CCTV news, haha! 

But the oil price down still a good news for our company, that result plastic resins prices down also, especially the resin number for our injection molding and blow molding production now.

World bioplastics output will be doubled in 2013

According to European bioplastics secretary-general HaraldKab, ” by the speedy bio-polyethylene equipment starting running, the global bioplastics production will be reach 1.46 million tons in 2013 and that volume will be 4 times of this year”.

More and more bioplastics will be soon spread into packaging material, film, shopping bag, cell phone and beverage bottle applications. We have noticed that the Coca-cola company has already use bioplastics in their PET bottle production, and the Tetra Pak is also looking for to use bioplastics in their products. Although bioplastics products will be more expensive than the traditional plastic products, but the most consumer would like to pay the extra charges.

L.a supermarkets plan to ban plastic bags

The Los Angeles parliament  recently passed a decree by majority that the supermakets will be no longer allowed to provide plasticbags to customers, even the paperbag the customer also need to pay  ten cents for each one.

The local plastic bag makers brought government for a lawsuit as an opposition, and  now the California court is hearing the case.

How to Distinguish PVC resin Recycled or Virgin

There are many different recycled PVC resins, in general it can be divided in to two categories of environmental friendly and none-environmental friendly (transparent or none-transparent). It looks similar with the transparent PET or PS, all of them Drowned in the water, and very hard make it pure.

Here’s some identifying methods:

1. Transparent PVC sheet looks yellow when in sunshine, and friable.
2. Virgin material touches smooth, and after folding appear white mark and blue selvedge.
3. The best way to see the difference is cut by scissors, white mark and blue selvedge will be the new one.
4. Burn it, good resin will be will be go out once the fire destroyed.

How to identify the different quality recycled polypropylene resins

Today we bought some recycled polypropylene resin for one of our overseas customer’s plastic pieces production.

In the precess of material selection, thanks to our years of experiences in plastics production, we finally find a good quality PP resin from most of the scraps which can meet our customer’s plastic parts quality requirments well. Here are some good ways of material selection:

1. Transparent resin is always a good quality than the opaque.

2. Choose the glossy resins.

3. Bad materials got coarse and dull in cutting surface.

4. Good materials are always above the water.

5. Burn and smell them, the closer to vrigin the better.

6. Burn and pull the melting part which good quality resin can got even silk in plastic.

7. Burn the materials and you will find bad resins got thick smoke and drip quickly.

8. Chew it and the soft one may mixed with polyethylene.

Labor’s Day of 2012

Tomorrow is May 1st, international labor’s day in China.

Actually few countries will commemorate this day  because the world no longer popular with or remember the terms so called ” the proletariat “, but we still have three days of vacation, it seems still good for workers in China.

As a injection molding company in China, Glory Plastics have made tremendous efforts to relieve our workers’ working loads by introducing the robots in manufacturing process, especially in parts assembly.

Better working condition, low working intensity and relatively high wage, I think that every day is better than the worker’s day in the annual May Day.
